George is passionate about helping individuals, couples and families heighten self-awareness, deepen their relationships, find healing in trauma by becoming the hero of their own story, and grow personally through lifes’ often difficult transitions.
George holds a Masters in Counseling from Grace Seminary, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, (emphasis Organizational Psychology). He is a systems thinker, listening for significant themes/patterns to compassionately bring to clients awareness, that they might make healthier, more informed, self-empowered choices in their lives. To enable the unconscious move to consciousness, he uses a range of highly effective, evidence-based counseling approaches. He learns his client and fits the approach/modality to each’s unique individuality. Many clients say his employing the IFS model in therapy has helped them see marked improvement, not only of symptom management but deep, inner personal growth.
George has treated a wide population over many years dealing w/recovery from PTSD, trauma-related issues. These range from artists, college students to war veterans , moms/dads, as well as physicians and highly successful C-Level Executives, to those in highly stressful leadership roles often lacking a confidante. He also has specialization in Technology Assisted Counseling, which allows him to provide counseling over video, phone or email.
In his spare time George enjoys being outdoors with his German short haired pointer, working in the dirt at home, mountain biking, listening to a wide range of eclectic music w/friends and keeping up with his adult children on their latest historical fiction/classic reads. “”The Brothers Karamazov”” is one of his favorites.
