Shakira Eakins

Shakira works closely with clients to help them connect deeply with themselves and their community. She sees clients 18+ virtually who are residents of Arkansas and Oklahoma. Her mission is to develop healthy therapeutic relationships and build community through individual counseling and community yoga. Shakira is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Yoga Teacher, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with 13+ years’ experience providing therapy, advocating for the oppressed, and collaborating with community partners. She also provides workshops for other professionals in many different settings.

She works with all cultures, and her primary areas of focus include Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and LGBTQIA+ individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, childhood emotional wounds, and other challenges that affect their ability to feel safe and connected.

Shakira focuses on first building the therapeutic relationship through talk, leaving space for response, humor, and mindfulness-based activities. She has found that this helps clients feel safe enough to begin examining whatever challenges they are focused on for that session.

Shakira sees adults ages 18 and up.
